Whale season on Maui is from mid November to early May with some whale sightings reported as early as October! One of our favorite activities throughout the year is the Atlantis Submarine Tour. On this 50-minute submarine ride, that carries up to 48 passengers, you will dive to depths of 100 feet and beyond. In the comfort and safety of an air-conditioned submarine you will have the chance to view unique natural coral reefs, exotic fish, marine life, and the Carthaginian (a replica of a 19th century supply vessel), all off Lahaina. Guests visiting during whale season may have the opportunity for some great whale watching. Here’s an Atlantis Submarine video of a whale encounter.
Tours leave daily from Lahaina Harbor on the hour from 9am – 2pm with check-in half an hour prior to departure. Cost is $99 per adult, children 12 and under (must be 3 feet tall) are free with paying adult (one child per paying adult).
